Be Safe Out There and Smile!

October is upon us and it is a special time of year.

For most, fall is crisp air, colorful leaves, and a lot of football cheer.

But for kids and the young at heart it is the high season for sweet treats and this blog is for those folks
We’re not talking 4th of July with its corn on the cob or a Thanksgiving Turkey, this is the Olympics of SUGAR and its not a hoax.

As such, we need to prepare like we would for all sporting events,
Put the chin guards down, helmets and knee pads don’t make sense.

With our Safety Gear- brushing thoroughly just 2 minutes a day with fluoride paste for your tooth,
Add that to a quick minute of flossing and protection is yours, that is the truth.

You have to commit to the cause since opportunities to falter can arise at any time
Off to the North Carolina State Fair, for example- it doesn’t seem like a crime.

You walk by get a sticky caramel apple (kind-of healthy, right?)
But next thing ya know, it’s funnel cake and a sugar coma for the rest of the night.

Without the proper training this could have turned out bad,
But with your Safety Gear you were ready and are nothing but glad.

You’ve got it- with a 2 minute brush and a 1 minute floss you will win every day,
So when the time comes for harvest festivals, church home-comings and tricks or treats, you can say yay!

With your safety gear in hand you’ll be good for a while,
Always brush it twice, floss once and then come see me and smile.
